In August 2014, KNGO purchased 12 sewing machines which were made accessible to women in the village as a way to gain skills and provide additional income for their families.
The program officially began in September 2014. Skills training, sewing material and equipment is supplied by KNGO and women choose their own hours to work and create an income for their families. The garments made by the women at KNGO are then sold to a pre-arranged trader. KNGO keep a very small percentage of the profits to cover the cost of the sewing program and ensure its sustainability. The women then keep the balance of the profit for each garment they sew.
At present a total of 12 women from Bospo participate in the program.
